HISTORY OF NDC

Notre Dame of Cotabato is the first Marist school in the Philippines. The first four Brothers, viz., Bro. Maurus James Doherty, Bro. Herbert Daniel Dumont, Bro., Joseph Damian Teston, and Bro. Peter Leonard Thommen arrived here on June 21, 1948. They took over the Notre Dame Academy which had been founded in 1945 by the Oblate (OMI) Fathers.

The Religious of Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters, who had helpinng the Oblates in running the school, took care of the girls from then on, while the Brothers had the boys, thus giving birth to Notre Dame of Cotabato (Boys' Department). In June 1996, Notre Dame of Cotabato opened an afternoon session for boys and girls, and in June 2000 girls were admitted to day session. In June 2012 the school started its Senior High School Program.

NDC has always aimed to be an outstanding school providing for excellence in education for Christians and Muslims with Values Education (religion) as the core of the curriculum.
